The two LSS adult day centers serve more than 225 elderly and disabled adult El Pasoans each year.

LSS adult day centers provide:

l well-planned social activities, exercise, crafts, music and field trips

l nutritious meals and snacks

Adult Day Center Participants

l health care supervision

l transportation to and from the centers

Why adult day care?

l For the elderly who live alone or with a caregiver,     this is an ideal way to help prevent feelings of     isolation and depression.

l It is ideal for the elderly who need assistance with daily living but do not     need nursing home care.

l This program can be a cost-effective alternative to live-in care and may     even prevent premature, expensive nursing home placement.

This program has another, very important benefit:
    Adult day care allows caregivers to go to their jobs or attend school     knowing that their loved ones are among friends and cared for by loving,     trained members of the community.

Note: No fee is charged to those individuals who receive Medicaid/Supplemental Security Income and have medical need documented by a physician.

The centers receive support from United Way and the Area Agency on Aging in El Paso, and are licensed by and receive reimbursement from the Texas Department of Human Services for assistance provided to eligible recipients.
