FAMILY SERVICES WORKER

Location: Dallas – URM Program

The Unaccompanied Minors Program seeks a full time Family Services Worker to serve foster children and their foster parents for a growing foster care program serving refugees, asylees, and victims of human trafficking minors. This position will provide case management and/or support services to our foster families, foster children and service providers to ensure that the foster child's needs are being met and foster parents are adhering to State foster care laws. Perform recruitment, intake/eligibility, counseling, verification, approval, assessment, placement, and referral services to prospective clients and children. Strong focus on conducting outreach and recruiting foster families for the Program.  Experience in foster care strongly preferred.  Experience in foster care recruiting preferred. Experience serving immigrants, and/or children preferred. Bilingual in Spanish or refugee language preferred.

AREA DIRECTOR - FOSTER CARE SERVICES

Location: Victoria

An Area Director is needed for the Victoria office. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in providing quality social services, including the management and supervision of children’s service professionals. The AD will perform recruitment, intake/eligibility, verification, assessment, placement, and referral services to prospective foster parents and children in foster care. The incumbent will prepare, compile and maintain accurate records, files, forms and statistics in accordance with agency policy and with licensing and funding requirements. He/she will need to assume the role of liaison worker with local agencies, community resources, and other geographical agency offices. RESIDENT COUNSELOR - LEAD

Location: Katy

A Lead Resident Counselor is needed at the Krause Children's Center to provide a safe, structured, therapeutic environment that meets the needs of the residents while maintaining professional and acceptable boundaries at all times. The Resident Counselor will attend weekly team meetings, supervise residents and set behavioral limits, chart their daily progress, plan and implement social and recreational activities for residents, and participate in group therapy sessions for residents. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, good communication skills, and knowledge of human behavior. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field and 1-2 years experience in a residential treatment setting preferred. Ability to lift 120 pounds safely with assistance is also necessary.

SECRETARY

THERAPIST

A Case Supervisor/Therapist is needed at the Krause Children's Center to coordinate and provide therapy and casework services in order to fulfill agency goals and objectives. The incumbent will conduct admission assessments, attend treatment team meetings, develop treatment plans, maintain accurate and current case records on each resident, and assist with training and staff development. Requirements include an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) or LMSW-ACP (Licensed Masters Level Social Worker-Advanced Clinical Practitioner), excellent interpersonal skills, ability to establish a respectful relationship with persons served, and ability to work independently under limited supervision. Two years of experience in direct counseling with individuals/groups preferred.

ACTIVITY/RECREATIONAL THERAPIST

LIFEGUARD

Location: Corpus Christi

The Bokenkamp's Children’s Shelter in Corpus Christi is seeking a Red Cross certified lifeguard to maintain a clear and safe environment in and around the pool and to enforce safety rules. LVN

Location: Katy

A licensed LVN is needed at the Krause Children's Center to administer treatment and medication to residents that has been prescribed by a physician or dentist. The LVN will observe and report symptoms of residents to a supervisor, keep medication files and maintain appropriate drug inventory, chart pertinent information, admit, discharge or transfer residents as directed, and perform diagnostic tests as ordered by the attending physician. Requirements include a degree from an accredited school of vocational nursing, possession of a current license to practice nursing in Texas, strong leadership qualities, and the ability to accomplish a proper physical containment using accepted techniques. Ability to lift 130 pounds safely with assistance also required. Incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license and have an excellent driving record.

CLINICIAN

Location: El Paso

A Clinician is needed for the El Paso Office of Refugee Resettlement to coordinate and provide individual and group counseling services in order to address Unaccompanied Alien Children behavior concerns and progress. The Clinician will conduct initial mental health assessments on each child at the time of admission, coordinate and provide weekly individual and group counseling services, attend team meetings, and serve as a liaison between agency staff and community programs involved in children’s treatment plans. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and two years post-graduate direct service delivery experience or Master’s degree in psychology, sociology or relevant behavioral science or Bachelor’s degree in above mentioned fields and five years of progressive employment experience. Lutheran Social Services is recruiting six professionals statewide to be responsible for administrative, clerical and fiscal supervision of Family Services programs. Requires expertise in providing quality clinical and social services, including the management and supervision of children’s service professionals. The selected candidates will supervise program personnel, participate in difficult case conferences, oversee and implement strategies to meet COA for Child & Family Services best practice standards, participate in service expansion planning, assure compliance with COA standards, and provide monthly supervision to Area Directors.
