Social Services names new manager of Trinity Place Apartments March
17, 2008 AUSTIN
- Sherry Houston of Austin, who has been with Lutheran
Social Services for nearly 16 years, has been named manager of Trinity Place Apartments,
a community for low-income and disabled seniors in Round Rock. "Sherry
Houston has true compassion for people and the mission of LSS," Senior VP
for Senior Services John Berkely said. "Her compassion and expertise make
her the perfect individual to lead Trinity Place Apartments." Trinity
Place Apartments is a HUD community and an affiliated program of LSS.
"I am excited about working with the current staff who have been so faithful
in their care of our residents and our facility," Houston said. "I see
my role as manager as a positive addition to a great team as we carry out the
LSS mission to the residents at Trinity Place Apartments." Houston
will begin her new position March 24. She is currently the payroll supervisor
for LSS. LSS is the social service arm of The Lutheran Church - Missouri
Synod and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. LSS affiliated ministries
serve more than 35,000 people in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi regardless
of religious beliefs, ethnicity, gender or age. Its ministries include children's
residential treatment centers, therapeutic foster care, adoption, disaster response,
emergency assistance, senior health care, retirement communities and adult day
