Rep. Jim Pitts honored for work with
abused, neglected children in Texas

- The Texas Association of Child Placing Agencies
presented Representative Jim Pitts (R-Waxahachie)
with a distinguished service award for his work and
dedicated service to helping neglected and abused
children in Texas. TACPA recognized Rep. Pitts for
his specific work and influence in the Texas state
legislature last session in regard to caring for the
state's children in need.
The award was presented in Austin
by TACPA president Irene Clements. "We, in the
child care field, appreciate legislative members like
Rep. Pitts so much. Rep. Pitts worked very hard and
was 100 percent committed to seeing that Texas's neglected
and abused children were cared for in the legislative
budget last session. He truly is a champion of our
children and we are proud to give him this award."
The Texas Association of Child
Placing Agencies represents more than 5,000 neglected
and abused boys and girls who are cared for by more
than 2,000 foster families across the state of Texas.
