The
Village at Gleannloch Farms
Celebrates Groundbreaking
SPRING,
Texas - Lutheran Social Services and The Village
at Gleannloch Farms, soon to be Houston's newest continuing
care retirement community, commemorated the official
groundbreaking Nov. 3 with a celebration on the grounds
within the master-planned neighborhood of Gleannloch
Farms.
The ceremonies included remarks by Dr. Kurt Senske,
chief executive officer of Lutheran Social Services,
Inc.; The Reverend James Hinkhouse, senior pastor
of Kinsmen Lutheran Church; Pastor Donald G. Black
of Trinity Lutheran Church; Nancy Hillmer, vice president
of Greystone Communities; and Ken Halbert, director
of marketing for The Village at Gleannloch Farms.
Guests at the groundbreaking
ceremony shared in a champagne toast led by Dr. Senske,
then enjoyed a sumptuous luncheon and festive music
by the Jaime Casco Jazz Trio.
A special presentation
was made to Krause Children's Center in Katy, Texas,
of 133 Bibles and materials for their Spiritual Care
Program, representing the 133 families that will make
their homes at The Village at Gleannloch Farms. Diane
Covert, director of development for Krause Children's
Center - a residential treatment center for abused,
neglected, and troubled boys and girls operated by
Lutheran Social Services - attended the event to accept
the donation.
