Golfers
raise more than $105,000 for
abused, neglected children at Krause Children's Center

Katy, Texas
- More than 140 golfers raised more than $105,000
for abused and neglected children at Krause Children's
Center in Katy when they finally got the chance to
tee off at the 17th Annual Tomorrow's Child Golf Benefit
at Pine Forest Golf Club in Houston on Monday, July
24. The tournament, originally set for June 20, had
to be rescheduled because of rain.
"The Katy community is awesome!"
said Krause Chief Executive Officer Phil Ashford.
"They stand by the Krause kids through rain and
shine - literally! Even with the rain and flooding,
more than 100 golfers showed up last month. Yesterday,
we had more than 140 golfers! We are blessed to have
such loyal supporters."
"The community used the
rain-out as an opportunity to do even more good things
for the kids," said Joy Caster, director of volunteer
services for Krause. "The tournament was a huge
success, thanks to their commitment to the kids."
Several girls from the Krause Center joined golfers
for lunch and get a putting lesson from volunteers
at the course.
