Chapel/theatre
dedicated at
Wedgewood South Assisted Living
March 28, 2006
Lubbock
The beautiful, new Brandes Chapel/Theatre at Wedgewood
South Assisted Living in Lubbock was dedicated recently
with more than 60 people attending the ceremony.
Spiritual care is important
to the mission of Lutheran Social Services and its
affiliated ministries. So, it was with great joy that
the center opened the doors to a new place for spiritual
care and community-building.
I think the Brandes
Chapel/Theatre will serve as a wonderful community
resource, said Christina Stephens, community
manager of Wedgewood South. It is a great, new
and inviting facility to better serve our residents
as well as the entire community.
The chapel/theatre became
possible with a lead gift of L. B. Bud
and Georgia Brandes of Plainview. More than $50,000
was raised to make the Brandes Chapel/Theatre a reality
for those served by Wedgewood.
The other major donors
include the estate of Lloyd Billingsley, Larry and
Mary Lee Franklin, Vida Hrbacek, Gene and Susan Lake,
Spring Fling Donors, William and Nancy Benfer, Kevin
and Olga Benz, Rev. Karl and Jeanette Heimer, Dr.
Robert and Beverly Hildebrandt, Greg and Deb Hilton,
David and Karen Kahle, Joyce Kuhl, Mark and Kim Minick,
Jason and Allison Mull, William and Lois Rankin, Dr.
Kurt and Laurie Senske, Rev. Leo and Rose Merle Symmank,
the Rev. Mel and Gaile Swoyer and Werner Teggemann.
