Fund-raiser for adult day care ministry
breaks all records

March 30, 2007

EL PASO, Texas - Celebre La Buena Vida, the fund-raiser for LSS adult day centers, raised more than $20,000! A record for the annual gala event. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provided $6,000 in matching dollars through a Care in Regions grant.

Another record broken was the number of guests – 225 – who attended the March 29 event at the El Paso Club.

The evening included a silent auction featuring unique wooden houses painted and decorated by 69 local artists including Corinne Abeyta Spinnler, Alberto Escamilla, Candy Mayer and Krystyna Robbins.

The live auction featured airline tickets, a weekend getaway and an original painting. The evening included live music, a light buffet supper and cocktails.

Since 1975, the Buena Vida Adult Day Centers have provided quality care to El Paso's low-income elderly and disabled residents, providing them nutritious meals, exercise, social activities, field trips, health monitoring, medicine administration and health education.
