Village at Gleannloch Farms residents gather for Grace Graffiti Event
Oct. 15, 2007 HOUSTON,
Texas - Graffiti is
normally something you wouldn't want to see at a church, but for future residents
of a future retirement community in Houston, it couldn't be more appreciated.
The Village at Gleannloch Farms, soon to be North Houston's most extensive continuing
care retirement community recently hosted a "Grace" Graffiti ceremony
and reception to celebrate the construction of the community chapel.

More than 60 future residents,
staff, volunteers and supporters were encouraged to share their favorite Bible
verse or prayer by writing it on the exposed lumber of the unfinished chapel before
the sheet rocking commences, embedding their well-wishes into the walls forever.
"I've been to several "grace graffiti"
events, and all have been incredibly moving," said Kurt Senske, chief executive
officer for Lutheran Social Services, which owns and operates The Village at Gleannloch
Farms. "Even after the sheetrock is hung, the walls are mudded, textured
and painted and after the flooring is laid, the hopes and dreams for future residents
surround them because they are permanently inscribed on the studs - and on the
hearts of those who wrote them." Scheduled
to open in late summer of 2008, the master-planned community located on Spring
Cypress Road and I-249 will feature over 130 independent living apartments and
cottages, plus an additional 80 residences for seniors requiring assisted living,
skilled care or memory support specialization. Click
